Experience the heart of Australia on this five-day educational journey through the Red Centre. Students are immersed in cultural and environmental learning from day one, beginning at the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre, where they explore Anangu perspectives and Tjukurpa.


At Uluru, students examine geological formation alongside deep cultural significance, before continuing to the dramatic landscapes of Kings Canyon. The journey continues at Kata Tjuta, investigating unique rock formations, biodiversity, and microclimates.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Yulara (Orientation & Cultural Foundations)
  • Arrival at airport and transfer to exclusive campsite in Yulara

  • Orientation session: safety, cultural awareness, and fieldwork expectations

  • Visit to Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre

  • Introduction to Anangu culture and Tjukurpa (law, stories, and connection to Country)

  • Uluru sunset viewing at Ewing Lookout

  • Return to camp for dinner and reflection around campfire.

Day 2: Uluru (Geology & Cultural Significance)
  • Sunrise viewing of Uluru and discussion on cultural significance vs tourism pressures.

  • Guided Mala Cultural Walk examining rock art, sacred sites, and storytelling.

  • Study of Uluru’s formation

  • Bush tucker experience and Digeridoo workshop

  • Travel to exclusive Kings Canyon campsite

Day 3: Kings Canyon
  • Breakfast at camp followed by early morning journey to Kings Canyon

  • Iconic Rim Walk to explore Garden of Eden, Lost City formations, and seasonal waterholes.

  • Learn about cultural significance of the area to Luritja people at Karrke Aboriginal Cultural Experience.

  • Return to Yulara campsite for dinner.

Day 4: Kata Tjuta
  • Morning visit to Kata Tjuta (The Olgas)

  • Guided walk at Walpa Gorge

  • Study of conglomerate rock formations and comparison with Uluru

  • Investigation of microclimates and biodiversity within the gorge

  • Field of Lights exhibit.

Day 5: Yulara
  • Morning visit to Uluru camel museum

  • Reflection activity: sustainability and responsibility in protected areas

Our experienced guides play a critical role in ensuring student wellbeing. All Adventure Educational Tours guides hold current Working With Children Checks (WWCC), are certified in First Aid, and are trained in driver safety and fatigue management, along with additional relevant qualifications.
