Our K’gari & Sunshine Coast Educational Program is a curriculum-aligned exploration of Queensland’s coastal and island environments, bringing Science, Geography and sustainability studies to life through immersive, hands-on experiences. From the Sunshine Coast to the World Heritage-listed K'gari, students investigate marine ecosystems, explore perched lake systems and ancient rainforests, and examine the processes shaping coastal dunes and shorelines. Cultural learning is embedded throughout, providing insight into K’gari’s significance to the Butchulla people and traditional land management practices.

The program is further enriched with a guided visit to the Noosa Everglades, where students examine wetland ecology, water quality and biodiversity, alongside whale and dolphin watching experiences that explore marine behaviour, migration, and conservation, including species such as the Humpback Whale.

Complementary fieldwork and conservation-focused learning, including visits to Australia Zoo, reinforce environmental stewardship and deepen understanding of the interconnected challenges involved in protecting these unique ecosystems
